Clare Florist Review
Clare Florist Valentines Flower Delivery Online Review
The websites photography is very good, with at least 3-4 different views of the selected choice available to click on if you wish to have a more detailed look. I like the rather clever trick of hovering over the picture and it immediately brings up a quick description of the flowers used in the selection without having to double click onto it, however I thought the website’s homepage looked rather busy and crowded with numerous tiny pictures on one panel (along the bigger ones in the middle of the page), lots of various other ‘useful info’ on another panel and the usual headings along the top panel. I mark it 4/5.
Its Valentine’s Day flowers section contains a compact 12 options with prices starting at only £19.99 (for 20 stems of red and pink tulips delivered packed in a pretty box) to top of the range price of £89.99 (for 2 dozen red roses complete with gypsophila, hypericum berries and assorted foliage). I quite like the simplicity (and affordability) of its single red rose in a box complete with Thorntons twin-heart chocolates for only £24.99; how very sweet!
The add-on options include chocolates (from £4.55), vase (£5.95) or bears (£7.95).
Normal delivery is next day which is included in the price as long as you order before 5pm. You will need to type your own message and they do provide a free, in-house card. However, you may wish to select your own from a wide selection of different cards available to accompany the message, at an extra charge of course.
On 22 Jan 08 at 11.30pm I ordered its ‘Scent of Spring’ (scented hyacinths and tulips) hand-tied bouquet at £34.99 from the ‘Springtime Flowers’ section.
I received the delivery on 24 Jan 08 at 2.15pm by a Fedex delivery van. The bouquet was securely packed into Clare Florist’s signature green coloured, nice and large stand-up box. It even has a clear window panel on the lid (so one can ‘take a quick peek’ because I was so impatient!). The bouquet (in a purple gift-wrap) contained 5 pink gerberas, 5 pink hyacinths, 10 pink tulips, 5 green hypericums, 3 fatsia leaves and 5 salal leaves as greenery.
The hyacinths were all in bud and all the flowers appeared to have been very well conditioned. I really like the message (and its font) which was printed onto a small A6 size paper card with a simple but effective graphic.
Overall, I really love this bouquet. Its colour combination works really well and looks effortlessly feminine and quite beautiful. 3 days on, the hyacinths have blossomed and are now beautifully scented, just as it was described in its name. I will be very happy to buy from Clare Florist again, confident they will deliver a floral gift that will meet all the desired expectations.
