Bunches.co.uk Flower Review
Review of flower delivery from Bunches.co.uk
My first impression of the website is that it has many consistent, good quality pictures, giving it marks 4 out of 5.
It is easy to navigate and you could search to buy using price range, types of flowers or different occasions. Their ‘classic’ range of bouquets gives good value with prices starting from only £9.99. If you’re not super-organised but want to send flowers to your beloved for the rest of the year, there is a fantastic gift at a price of £199 (which works out to be only under £17 per bouquet, per month!).
Their Valentine’s section is compact at only 8 options with starting price at £9.99 for a ‘I Love You’ balloon to 2 dozen red roses for £44.99.
A typical 12 red roses with foliage in an ‘aqua cube’ costs just £29.99.
It’s very easy to choose the many add-on options eg. greeting cards (from £2.99), bears (from £4.99), chocolates (£4.50 or £8.99), candles (from £3.50), birthday cake (£3.99)and even additional gypsophilia (£1.99)!
Their normal delivery is via 1st class Royal Mail post whilst courier delivery incurs an extra charge (£4.95).
The message options is limited though ie. when type your own, I’ve found that it cannot translate apostrophe (‘) eg. I’m will type out as I/m.
On 22 Jan 08 I ordered its traditional 12 red roses bouquet at £29.99 (with free chocs).
The delivery arrived on 23 Jan 08 at 8.30am. The bouquet was stood up in a small plastic container (for keeping the stems fresh and moist) within a stand-up box.
I received 12 red roses and 2 stems of hard ruscus (greenery). The roses had very good strong stems and appeared to be very well conditioned. Once they were placed into a vase, they took up water very well and the petals blossomed even more.
The message card was not great, just printed off the computer on sticky-backed paper, peeled off and stuck on although I thought the hand written style font was a nice touch.
Overall, I am very impressed with the high quality roses as 3 days on, they still look good and healthy (because roses are sometimes notoriously difficult to sustain). I will be happy to re-order or recommend them to friends.
